After its astronomical popularity last year, this is the first time the game suffers a decline in popularity.Axie Infinity changes its economic systemThe Ethereum based game enjoyed massive success last year and racked up almost $4 billion in NFT trading volume. However, things went south lately for Axie Infinity as its token and NFT values took a downfall. The plunging values of the game have put the entire play-to-earn model into question. Assessing the failing economy of the game, the creators of Axie Infinity have decided to introduce changes designed to bring the game economy back to life. The prime change is related to SLPs where the game will reward fewer SLP tokens. Moreover, the game will focus more on online arena battles and their rewards. The changes will go live with the game’s 20th season on both mobile and PC.As of now, Axie Infinity requires a player to buy its NFT assets which are known as Axies. To begin playing the game, a player needs to buy at least three of these NFTs. The player then earns by breeding and battling monsters which yield token rewards. The P2E model of Axie Infinity also resulted in community-based scholarship programs. These scholarship programs worked in third-world countries where NFT asset holders rent Axies to players in return for a cut in token rewards. This scholarship program also played a massive role in Axie Infinity’s success last year.Axie Infinity changes its economic systemHowever, the momentum quickly took a plunge, and the game’s token SLP decreased below $0.10. The falling value of the token put a massive strain on the scholarship guilds. Moreover, AXS also plunged nearly 70% when compared to its peak value. Its NFT trading volume decreased from $754 million in November to $301 million in December. And to top it all off, Sky Mavis’ data shows a drop in concurrent players from a peak of 2.7 million in November to 2.2 million at the end of January.Every day the latest video game news about the gaming industry. DeVerse - Game Review

From the DeHorizon metaverse project, based on Binance Smart Chain technology, DeVerse is the first game to come out. The game has a rich storyline starting from the origins of the universe called Deternity to the gods created by it called Deternals, whose goal is to destroy parallel timelines of the universe. Moreover, one of their targets became the race called Numens and they sent a natural calamity towards them in the form of the Hepta-Crest Dragon. The game has introduced up until now only 5 Numens. These are Ranger, Adventurer, Rogue, Warrior, and Alchemist. Besides, the Numens have divided into two groups each engaged in a battle against the Hepta-Crest Dragon while also battling each other. The players will be able to choose from one of the Numen characters to fight in PvP battles. Moreover, they can also explore the landscapes, and earn $DVT tokens by clearing expeditions, and fighting the monsters and gods. In this play-to-earn NFT game, we can see the difference clearly in terms of the dedication being given by the metaverse developers. The previous P2E NFT games lack the entertainment element mostly and there is also a lack of a good storyline, however, DeVerse seems to be changing this. The DeHorizon metaverse in which the game is set showcases a widely expansive universe that is ever-growing and hopes to be a DAO in the future.

Alien Worlds - Game Review

Alien Worlds is a NFT card game where you explore new planets in search of new lifeforms. Find out about the Play-to-Earn game Alien Worlds on the WAX Blockchain! Explore six different worlds, each of which has 500 plots of land owned by the NFT. Trilium can be earned in-game, sent to Binance Smart Chain, and bet on for even better benefits. This book tells you everything you need to know to get started in the Alien Worlds metaverse. Are you ready to start your Play-to-Earn journey in Alien Worlds and see what it has to offer? This guide will teach you how to play Alien Worlds and how to get Trilium tokens by mining on land plots owned by other players, getting NFT points, and joining Syndicates to vote on plans. The game play in Alien Worlds is easy but exciting. Players can mine on land plots with their Shovel or other mining-related NFTs and get a small number of Trilium pieces in return. At the same time, miners get NFT points every time they mine. These points can be used to buy a rotating collection of NFTs, such as Land Plots, Tools, Minions, Avatars, and Weapons, which all live on the WAX blockchain. In Alien Worlds, a person owns each piece of land. That player gets a share of the Trilium mined on their land. On top of all of this are the Syndicates, which are player-run planetary governments that can submit and vote on ideas for their planet's Alien Worlds environment. This makes the game even more strategic and involves the whole group. Alien Worlds is one of the older WAX games, and since it was first announced in July 2020, it has changed all the time. In October, they sold several NFTs, and in December of that same year, they sold their first and only piece of land. Soon after the land was sold, people could start mining on land plots. Since then, the team has been slowly and steadily improving their website and adding new features. Alien Worlds is part of the Blockchain Games Alliance, a group of game creators and players who want to see more blockchain-based games made and played.

Rune Seeker - Game Review

Rune Seeker - Game Review

"Rune Seeker" is a modern strategy card game that combines elements of turn-based strategy with blockchain technology. It is set in the enchanting realm of Norse Mythology and is scheduled to be launched on the Avalanche blockchain. This choice of blockchain ensures speed, scalability, and the ability to accommodate a large number of concurrent users. The game has received support from Ava Labs, emphasizing its goal of bringing true ownership to the world of card gaming. The game's lore is set in the Age of Origin, where ancient gods shaped the world, but conflicts among their creations led to chaos. To restore balance, new races emerged, and the game's storyline revolves around the struggle to prevent a cataclysmic war caused by the god Nul and the discovery of powerful runestones called "The Fallen Runes." In terms of gameplay, "Rune Seeker" introduces dynamic elements like terrain and runes, which offer various strategic possibilities. Each match begins with commanders deploying three units on random map-generated tiles. Units are affected by their elemental surroundings, aligning with Earth, Water, Fire, and Air principles. The game consists of 3-4 rounds, each with Command and Action phases. Commanders strategically position champions and use runes to direct units and manipulate terrain. The Action Phase involves executing actions such as attack, defense, transformation, fusion, or summoning. Victory is achieved by eliminating all enemy units or depleting runes. Matches may accelerate after three rounds, triggering the "Land of Chaos." Mastery of the game's intricacies is crucial for success. Players can engage in real-time PvP combat in the Battle Arena, embark on PvE adventures in dungeons to uncover the game's lore, and participate in special campaigns and side quests. Regarding tokenomics, the game adopts a non-inflationary model. Players do not earn tokens through a Free-to-Play model, preventing token saturation as new players join. Token generation during vesting is also absent, with 45% of the total $RUNES supply gradually entering the market over the initial 1.5 years, including contributions from initial investors and a liquidity pool. Seed Investors have access to a specialized staking program, adding incentives for long-term holders. The community response to "Rune Seeker" has been mixed, with some players expressing their enjoyment of the game, while others criticize aspects such as character design. However, the game's Norse mythology stories have garnered positive feedback.

Synergy of Serra - NFT Game Review

"Synergy of Serra" is a free-to-play collectible card game that allows players to compete for prizes using a standard deck of cards. Players can also use non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to enhance their gameplay experience. The game is open to all players and does not require any upfront costs. In addition to traditional gameplay, the use of blockchain technology in "Synergy of Serra" gives players the ability to truly own their cards as digital assets. This means that players have the option to trade, sell, or otherwise use their cards as they see fit. The use of NFTs allows players to assert ownership and control over their cards in a way that is not possible in traditional card games. 159 unique cards will be available when Synergy of Serra launches, separated into four sets: the promo set, beginner set, base set, and transcendence set. The quality and rarity of a card are used to evaluate its scarcity. The most valued card is a legendary golden card, while the least valuable card is a painted metal common card. "Synergy of Serra" will feature seasonal ladders, which are competitive modes that last for one to four months at a time. During these ladders, players will be able to earn cryptocurrency prizes by performing well in the game. The game is expected to launch its crate opening feature in 2022, followed by a closed alpha in 2023. The play to earn principle means that players can earn rewards simply by playing and excelling at the game. Factions are another card feature in Synergy of Serra. The same Faction "levels up" as a player adds more cards from that Faction to their collection, granting bonuses to cards that belong to it. Units occasionally even get new skills from higher-level Factions! Faction level, however, is not the only option. A Faction's level declines as its number of players decrease. The game also features Attachments. Each unit has one to four slots for attachments. Some units also have On Attach and On Detach effects that are triggered, as attachments are added or removed.

Knights of the Ether: Blightfell - Game Review

Knights of the Ether: Blightfell - Game Review

Knights of the Ether: Blightfell is a play to earn blockchain gaming experience that seamlessly integrates Web3 play-to-earn economics with intricate gameplay. It offers players a unique dual-chain universe within the Knights of the Ether (KOTE) ecosystem, where they can explore two distinct games: a Play2Earn (P2E) staking questing adventure and an engaging Deck-Building Roguelike challenge. These games cater to different skill sets, with the P2E "Stake/Quest" game requiring strategic thinking within the TreasureDAO ecosystem, and the Deck-Building Roguelike offering tactical battles against formidable monsters. The hallmark of this experience is its endless replayability and substantive progression, where every decision made carries weight. Knights of the Ether Review: The narrative unfolds in the mysterious realm of Blightfell, where a Knight and his two loyal Squires have vanished under enigmatic circumstances. Players step into this world, assuming the roles of either villagers, blessed villagers, or knights, each with unique health attributes. The game world is procedurally generated, with daily map refreshes and sporadic special events, creating a dynamic and evolving environment. The central quest is to assist in the search for the missing Knight and his faithful Squires. To partake in the primary Deck-Building Roguelike adventure, players must obtain a Knight of the Ether NFT. The P2E staking/questing game, on the other hand, requires the possession of Arbitrum Squires NFTs. NFTs: Knights of the Ether NFTs are native to the Ethereum network and can be acquired through direct minting via the KOTE website or through marketplace transactions. Every Knights of the Ether NFT ownership grants players a complimentary Arbitrum Squire NFT, residing on the Arbitrum L2 network. Additionally, players can obtain Squires through secondary marketplace channels. Despite existing on separate blockchain chains and serving distinct purposes, these NFTs are intricately interconnected. Squires play a pivotal role in enhancing the abilities of their Knights, facilitating resource accumulation, and acquiring essential gear for the Deck-Building Roguelike adventure. This interdependence creates a symbiotic relationship where Knights rely heavily on their Squires, and Squires derive value through their collaboration with Knights. Tokenomics: Participation in the primary Deck-Building Roguelike adventure necessitates owning a coveted Knight of the Ether NFT. The P2E staking/questing game, meanwhile, relies on the ownership of Arbitrum Squires NFTs. Knights of the Ether NFTs can be minted directly from the KOTE website or obtained through marketplace transactions, residing on the Ethereum network. Ownership of a Knights of the Ether NFT automatically grants a complimentary Arbitrum Squire NFT on the Arbitrum L2 network. Alternatively, players can procure Squires through secondary marketplaces. Despite residing on separate blockchain networks, Knights of the Ether NFTs and Arbitrum Squires NFTs maintain a complex symbiosis. Squires play a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of Knights, aiding in resource acquisition, and acquiring superior gear for the Deck-Building Roguelike game. Knights, in turn, rely on their Squires for crucial support and collaboration throughout their epic journey. The in-game utility and governance token is known as $FIEF. Community Response: The community response to Knights of the Ether: Blightfell varies. Some individuals have expressed concerns, such as high gas fees for minting free Villager NFTs, while others have recommended exploring different gaming experiences like "cross the ages." There are also comments critiquing the game's aesthetics, likening it to a flash-made game. Overall, community sentiment seems mixed, with both excitement and reservations about the project.
