Jacob told Decrypt that HyperPlay is "fixing the distribution problem and freeing game developers from the fear of being de-platformed by major monopolies like Apple and Google, or Steam." He prefers to go by his first name or his ‘.eth’ handle in order to protect his privacy. Jacob explains that, unlike the Apple store, they prefer not to take the 30% share of the developer's in-game economy."We're an extremely developer-friendly product,” He clarified. Instead, Jacob stated that HyperPlay will make money by providing "convenient features" within the software; much like MetaMask does, rather than taking a percentage of game sales or transactions. At launch, HyperPlay will have a lot of games, such as Undead Blocks, DeFi Kingdoms, The Sandbox, Voxie Tactics, and The Bornless, to name a few. Both Web3 games and non-crypto games will be supported by the launcher.

Web3 mulls crypto-term rebranding for Mainstream Appeal in 2024

Web3 mulls crypto-term rebranding for Mainstream Appeal in 2024

Companies involved in blockchain and cryptocurrencies are thinking about changing the names of concepts like crypto, NFT, blockchain, Web3. Web3, Blockchain and NFT Projects are urging to Stop Calling it Crypto as it has become “Old school."Big companies are abandoning terms like NFTs and Web3, partly due to the bad name and bear market. Words and names have had huge importance in commerce and the economy since the inception of the crypto market. There was a time when companies used to add the “blockchain” word to their names and would see their valuations skyrocket. But now these terms have turned into toxic words, and people are trying to distance themselves from them. If you are looking for NFTs on social media, you will have to search for “digital collectibles” instead of NFTs; otherwise, you might never find one.Brynly Llyr, head of blockchain and digital assets of the World Economic Forum, recently suggested that the crypto market should renounce old names. And instead, rebrand itself as “decentralized systems.” If you think about it, it’s not that bad of an idea at all, as these terms and jargon have turned into a safe haven for all the digital pirates. A big Bitcoin mining company, known as Riot Blockchain, has recently rebranded itself and is now called Riot Platforms. Sounds funny, right?

Running on the Polygon blockchain, DEFY focuses on restoring digital identity and personal data ownership within the framework of the decentralized Defiance Of Society. Players of DEFY find themselves in a world where a faceless organization called Future Systems has taken control of global networks, promising free internet access to all but at the cost of privacy and individuality. People now rely on Future Systems for basic needs, leading to dissatisfaction among some. In this scenario, players take on the role of operatives assisting a character named Kha0s, a systems administrator within Future Systems, in his mission to bring down the organization. They use a mobile app to infiltrate the network, steal a new global currency called FCOIN, and thwart Future Systems' control. One of the game's unique features is the use of NFT Virtual Private Masks, allowing operatives to hide their identities from Future Systems as they navigate the digital landscape. Players must be cautious, as Future Systems deploys security measures, including drones that pursue operatives. Operatives can either outrun these drones or use an electromagnetic pulse device to disable them. DEFY doesn't stop at "play-to-earn" but introduces "move-to-earn" and "learn-to-earn" elements. Players engage in physical activity as they play, promoting better health, and also learn the fundamentals of coding in an enjoyable and rewarding manner. In terms of in-game currency, DEFY employs a dual-token system. FCOIN is the in-game currency that players can earn by participating in various activities within the game. It is used to purchase and enhance NFT assets, creating a rewarding cycle within the game. Premium mask holders can transfer FCOIN to Kha0s' bank account, where they will receive DEFY tokens based on their contributions of FCOIN. The more FCOIN they contribute, the more DEFY tokens they receive.
