Blockchain enthusiasts witnessed a fiery exchange on X between Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss and Senator Elizabeth Warren. Winklevoss took aim at Warren's email campaign, labeling it as "dishonest" as she battles pro-crypto attorney John Deaton in her re-election bid.

Tyler Winklevoss Slams Elizabeth Warren For Email Campaign

Warren's campaign email accused conservative, crypto-funded groups of launching multi-million-dollar ad campaigns against her. In response, Winklevoss disputed her claims, highlighting the damage caused by Warren's anti-crypto stance to the 50 million Americans who own digital assets. He urged voters to support John Deaton, Warren's opponent, to counter what he termed as Warren's "unlawful war" on the crypto industry.

Winklevoss shared a screenshot of Warren's email, where she alleged that the Winklevoss brothers and other crypto investors were upset about her call for "fair regulations" to protect working people.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss have been actively engaged in politics, supporting right-leaning causes. In June, each donated $1 million to Republican U.S. presidential nominee Donald Trump. Moreover, the twins contributed nearly $5 million to Fairshake, a crypto super PAC supporting pro-crypto politicians in the 2024 elections.

Warren's email campaign is part of her efforts to garner support as she nears the final weeks of her re-election campaign against John Deaton, a pro-crypto candidate with backing from prominent figures in the blockchain sector, including Ripple executives Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen.

Warren has been advocating for tighter regulations in the crypto industry, as evidenced by her Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act (DAAMLA), which aims to enhance oversight of digital assets. Earlier this year, she made headlines by suggesting that cryptocurrencies were aiding criminal organizations, including rogue states, terrorists, and criminal groups.

Despite Deaton's support from key crypto personalities, Warren maintains a strong base in Massachusetts, making her a formidable opponent. Deaton faces a challenging battle as he aims to unseat the long-standing senator.
