After garnering a whopping 300 million players, the hit Telegram tap-to-Earn Game Hamster Kombat launched its HMSTR Token on The Open Network (TON) in late September. Now, the team behind the game has unveiled details about the upcoming Season 2 and a future airdrop for players.
Season 2 Launch Date
Season 2 of Hamster Kombat is scheduled to kick off "very soon, at the end of October," as revealed by the game's anonymous Development team to Decrypt this week.
Prior to the start of Season 2, on September 20, the developers introduced a short "interlude season" that was intended to be temporary and lasted a few weeks. The current interlude season focuses on earning in-game diamonds, a departure from the previous gameplay involving coins.
Advantages of Playing the Interlude Season
Players engaging in the ongoing interlude season are assured of gaining an advantage for the upcoming full season. While specific details have not been disclosed yet, the team confirmed that it would be a significant benefit for players.
The developers emphasized that players should expect a considerable boost at the beginning of the next season. More information regarding these benefits will be shared shortly.
Staking-Like Feature
Recently, Hamster Kombat introduced a Staking-like feature that allows players to retain their airdropped HMSTR Tokens within the game instead of transferring them to a wallet.
This feature, resembling staking, offers Rewards for locking tokens within the game. Although it is not a traditional on-Chain staking mechanism, it provides certain benefits for the upcoming season while allowing players who withdrew tokens to bring them back.
Future Airdrops and Expansion Plans
Season 2 of Hamster Kombat aims to host its own airdrop for players, slated for next summer. Additionally, the developers are looking to broaden Hamster Kombat's reach beyond Telegram by launching web apps across various Platforms and integrating with desktop PC Games in the future.
